Free-to-play brawler Tekken Revolution will be taken offline on March 21, 2017, according to Bandai Namco.
First released as a PS3 exclusive in 2013, Revolution was the first entry into the legendary fighting series to adopt the free-to-play model, though many believed Bandai Namco’s spinoff was guilty of a pay-to-win structure. Confirmation that the company now plans to pull the plug comes to us via the franchise’s official Twitter feed, leading some to speculate that Bandai Namco is shifting focus over to the upcoming Tekken 7, which is expected to hit PS4 and Xbox at some point in 2017.
Either way, here’s the official word from Bandai:
Support for Tekken Revolution on PS3 will cease on March 21, 2017. We thank all fans for your support, and get ready for the next battle! pic.twitter.com/WVACIAvSwn
