2016 has been filled with significant highs and lows for fighting video games. Big releases ranged from the disappointing return of Street Fighter, which played better than ever, but was a mess in every other regard, to the shockingly good revitalization of The King of Fighters. It also saw exciting announcements such as Injustice 2 and Marvel vs. Capcom Infinite being announced for a 2017 release.
The latter announcement got our heads spinning at PlayStation LifeStyle, as Capcom is bringing back yet another of their beloved fighting series for a go on PS4. So, what other fighting game franchises could also make the leap to Sony’s latest console? We hope you enjoyed our look at the fighting game series we’d love to see make a comeback on PlayStation 4. While it’s likely that some of these games will eventually get a PS4 sequel, we can at least feel relieved that Marvel vs. Capcom and Tekken are both coming in 2017. Fighting games aren’t going anywhere, and there’s definitely a very bright future ahead for the genre as it gains new fans.
