Final Fantasy XV Narrative Showcase Earmarked for GDC 2017

Square Enix will be in attendance at the 2017 Game Developers Conference, and we now have word that the Japanese publisher will host a narrative showcase of Final Fantasy XV.

Designed to offer a behind-the-scenes peek at the creative process, Dan Inoue, Lead Writer and Localization Director, will host the event at the Moscone Center in San Francisco. There’s currently no mention of an exact date and time, but we understand Inoue plans to divulge how a “fantasy based on reality” came to exist, including all of the many nuances involved in crafting a cohesive and, crucially, compelling story.

Here’s a primer from the folks behind GDC:

“So come learn how the fantasy came to life — you’ll walk away with techniques for bringing realism into a fantasy world, insight into the challenges of maintaining a cohesive narrative across companion projects and promotions, and strategies for turning the universe to your advantage, all with a unique AAA JRPG spin.”

Final Fantasy XV touched down late last year and has already shipped upwards of 6 million copies. GDC 2017, meanwhile, begins on February 27 and will continue through until March 3.
