Micro Machines World Series Races to PS4, Xbox One & PC on April 21

Offering top-down racing, Micro Machines World Series is releasing on April 21 in North America and Europe for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC, Codemasters and Koch Media announced today.

Keeping the “manic social gameplay of the classic series,” as well as modes like Race and Elimination, Micro Machines World Series adds HD visuals, Battle Arenas where you can face off against your friends or the AI, and Team play modes such as Capture the Flag and King of the Hill. The multiplayer supports up to four players on the same screen and 12 players online, and each of the 12 vehicles has its own unique load-out of weapons and abilities plus a host of customization options.

Codemasters’s’ Jonathan Bunney said:

The original Micro Machines was a breakthrough multiplayer racing game and remains much loved in the gaming community. We saw great success earlier this year with our free-to-play mobile game but this brand new console title takes the franchise to its greatest levels of multiplayer mayhem and enables you to play with your friends on the same sofa or across the world.

Some of the locations in Micro Machines World Series include the garden, kitchen, and workshop. Codemasters also says World Series will offer intuitive, easy to learn controls.

Expect gameplay footage to arrive in the future.
