With less than a month to go until launch, Horizon Zero Dawn for PlayStation 4 has gone gold, Guerrilla Games announced today. This means development is complete and it will be ready in time for release on February 28 in North America and March 1 in Europe.
On Twitter, members of Guerrilla and Sony Interactive Entertainment celebrated the milestone, showing off the retail box in the process:

In IGN UK’s preview of Horizon Zeron Dawn from the recent media event, they noticed that performance on a standard PS4 dropped when facing the Tallneck. To clear up any worries, Technical Director Michiel Leeuw said, “Mentioned performance drops were only in preview code, fixed in Gold Master.” The build IGN played was a week or so old, and Leeuw says the “US event had one without the framedrops. Last-minute fix.”
On Twitter, Ashly Burch (Life is Strange, Rise of the Tomb Raider) revealed that she’s playing Aloy in Horizon. “I am honored to announce that I am Aloy in Horizon Zero Dawn: a young woman who fights for and beside people of all races,” Burch wrote.
Guerrilla Games added that Dutch actress Hannah Hoekstra lent her likeness to Aloy.
