EA Talks Skate 4, New Need for Speed, Madden NFL 18, FIFA 18, UFC & NBA Live

During EA’s financial report yesterday, they gave out new information on a number of upcoming titles, including Madden NFL 18, FIFA 18, Skate 4, a new EA Sports UFC, the new Need for Speed, and the next NBA Live.

We’ve placed all the details on each game below:

Madden NFL 18

Will transition to the Frostbite engine, “unlocking major visual advancements and new gameplay experiences that will excite dedicated Madden players, football fans, and sports fans overall.”

FIFA 18

The Journey single-player mode will be back with Season 2, featuring new characters and new storylines. You can also expect “deeply innovative new experiences across this year’s game, including in Ultimate Team,” as well as the “most emotionally immersive and connected FIFA we have ever produced.”

Skate 4

Despite a tweet from Community Engagement Manager Daniel Lingen hinting at it, EA is “not presently making Skate 4, and so that will not be in fiscal year 2018,” CEO Andrew Wilson revealed.

If you’re hoping for a surprise release, CFO Blake Jorgensen said, “[…] we always can add a few things during the year, maybe something gets pulled in faster than we thought… But I think for purposes of guidance, we really wanted to give people a full understanding of the master slate that we’re planning. So, don’t assume that there’s another big title looming out there that’s going to drop into the year.”

EA Sports UFC

EA said “a new chapter of our UFC franchise” is releasing in fiscal year 18 (ending March 31, 2018).

Need for Speed

The “new Need for Speed title” is launching in FY18 (ending March 31, 2018). EA added, “We’ve given this game an extended development cycle to focus on innovation, and the Need for Speed team is pushing the boundaries of action driving with what we believe is the most exciting and best-looking Need for Speed game we’ve ever produced.”

NHL 18

No details were given, but we do know it’s releasing in FY18 (ending March 31, 2018). Typically, NHL games come out in September.

NBA Live

Previously expected in early 2017, an “all-new NBA Live game” is now launching in fall 2017.

CEO Andrew Wilson said they remain committed to their partnership with the NBA, the game is “really, really good and a lot of fun,” and they “feel like we are better positioned to launch that with the fullness of the NBA season ahead of us, and have decided to double down on that, add to it, and launch it as a full beat later in the year.”

Expect to see some of these titles at EA Play in June.
