UK Sales Chart: Horizon Zero Dawn Sees Sony’s Biggest Ever New IP Launch on PS4

Sony’s biggest new IP launch on PlayStation 4 (ahead of No Man’s Sky), Sony’s biggest launch since Uncharted 4, and the biggest launch of the year so far, Horizon Zero Dawn finished in first place last week in the UK.

Last week also saw the launch of the Nintendo Switch, which moved around 80,000 units, according to retailer data sent to Games Industry. This is ahead of the Wii U launch (40,000 units), but behind the 3DS (113,000 units), Xbox One (150,000 units), and PlayStation 4 (250,000 units) launches.

Debuting in 2nd place, Nintendo’s biggest game of the week was The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. Ot sold 78% of copies on Switch, and 22% on Wii U. The Switch version of Breath of the Wild is the 3rd biggest ever launch of a Zelda title, behind Wind Waker on GameCube and Twilight Princess on Wii.
