Telltale Games CEO Kevin Bruner Is Stepping Down

In an email sent to staff members this week, Telltale Games CEO Kevin Bruner revealed that he’s stepping down from his position, but will remain on the board of directors during the transition. Taking over day to day operations as CEO will be studio co-founder Dan Connors, who was the CEO up until January 2015.

Obtained by Kotaku, here’s part of what Bruner said in his email to staff:

Today I am writing to let you know that I’ll be stepping away from my position as CEO of Telltale. We’ve grown aggressively since Telltale’s inception, and now Telltale is bigger than I ever dreamed it would be. There are many possible futures for Telltale, and all of them are exciting and uniquely challenging. The time has come to pass the reins to someone that can better drive Telltale to the next level and realize all the potential that is here.

Following the posting of the email, Telltale’s Job Stauffer sent out a statement that confirmed the news. “Kevin has led Telltale over the past couple of years after he stepped into the CEO role for co-founder Dan Connors in 2015,” he said. “With Kevin departing, Telltale is fortunate to have Dan here to step back seamlessly into the CEO role.”

Up next for Telltale is Episode 3 of The Walking Dead: A New Frontier, which launches on March 28. They’re also working on a Guardians of the Galaxy series and season two of Game of Thrones.
