Destiny Update 2.6.0 Previewed, Will Address Local Network Fireteam & Skeleton Key Issues

Before the Age of Triumph event can begin at 10am PT/1pm ET on Tuesday, March 28, Bungie will release Destiny update 2.6.0, which fixes several issues, updates Crucible Daily Bounties to be more inclusive, and more.

Because the update doesn’t go live until 10am PT on Tuesday, the Weekly Heroic Strike and Weekly Nightfall Playlists will be unavailable for eight hours beginning at 2am PT. Since they’re unable to restrict access to the Weekly Crucible Playlist during those eight hours, Bungie offered up this warning:

If a player were to complete an activity in either of these playlists prior to accepting Update 2.6.0, they would not be able to earn new rewards from the Updated Age of Triumph Ritual Playlists. This includes Blue Flames and Radiant Light from the Nightfall playlist, and one Treasure of Ages from the Weekly Heroic Strike playlist.

Full patch notes for Update 2.6.0 will be released when the patch goes live, but in their latest weekly update, Bungie gave a preview of what to expect:

Known Issues Being Addressed

  • Local Network Fireteam Issues
  • SIVA Key Fragment Issues
  • Skeleton Key Issues

Confirmed Changes

  • Updated Crucible Daily Bounties to be more inclusive, no longer requiring specific Subclasses or Fireteams
  • Fixed an issue where a player on the surviving team could use Fireborn to cause the round to continue even when all enemies were dead
  • Fixed an issue that allowed Supers to stay activated longer than intended

Yesterday, a poster leaked that suggested Destiny 2 would be out on September 8. Although Bungie didn’t directly respond to the leak, they did offer up this message at the very end of their weekly update:

p.s. You were expecting something else? One milestone at a time, Guardians…
