Dynasty Warriors 9 was unveiled last December but since then, Koei Tecmo and Omega Force have been mum about the game, leading to some social media speculations. Producer Akihiro Suzuki finally decided to address all the chatter this weekend, and promised that he’ll share more on the game starting in May.
“I am sorry to have kept you waiting so long,” he said in a tweet. “Further information on Dynasty Warriors 9 will be released starting in May!”

From what we’ve been told so far, Dynasty Warriors 9 is meant to be the series’ “rebirth” and will introduce a lot of changes to its systems. It’ll be an open-world title complete with towns that players can explore. All 83 characters from Dynasty Warriors 8 Empires will appear in the upcoming title, with Zhou Cang appearing as a new, playable character alongside several others.
