Just as Starbreeze Studios announced a press conference scheduled to be livestreamed next week, the developer revealed that it has delayed Overkill’s The Walking Dead to second half of 2018.
In a press release, CEO Bo Andersson Klint said that the development team had decided to extend production schedule to allow the game to reach its “full potential” and drive the team’s vision “a step further.” “Together with Skybound Entertainment, we are fully dedicated to releasing an unforgettable experience for fans around the world and continuing to support it with high quality content in the coming years,” he wrote.
Overkill’s The Walking Dead was unveiled in August 2014 and has suffered a number of delays, the latest of which was meant to accommodate a worldwide release in the second half of 2017.
Starbreeze is expected to share further info during its press conference, which will also cover other titles in production at the studio including System Shock 3, Payday, and Psychonauts 2.
