Destiny 2 Gets New Gameplay Trailers, More Info Revealed

In the above new Destiny 2 gameplay trailer, Bungie talks about the story of the sequel and the main villain, all while showing off new footage. There’s also a Planets gameplay trailer, which talks about the new locations, and a Clans trailer, which talks about Clans and Guided Games:

Here’s some interesting pieces of info from the trailers and livestream:

  • Destiny 2 is a fresh start for all players
  • Destiny 2 has an all-new cinematic campaign, with more cinematics than Bungie has ever had before
  • The story sees you undertaking a journey to recover your powers and your home after a devastating attack on the Tower
  • There’s all-new worlds to explore, including Earth, Titan, Io, and Nessus
  • One of the first destinations you go to in Destiny 2 is the European Dead Zone, which is the largest destination Bungie has ever built, “maybe by a factor two”
  • There’s co-operative Strikes for three players, new Nightfall Strikes, and a brand new Raid
  • There will be a new Strike called The Inverted Spire
  • Destiny has new weapons, new armor, new exotics, and new subclasses
  • The weapons slots have been redesigned: you’ll have a kinetic weapon, an energy weapon, and a power weapon
  • Each character has new Supers, including the Dawnblade, the Sentinel, and the Arcstrider
  • You can go directly from one planet to another planet without going to orbit first. You just open the Director, pick your destination and go straight there
  • The Crucible is now 4v4 across all modes and there’s a new mode called Countdown (attack/defend)
  • The new HUD has more information about opponents, including whether they have a Super ready and whether they’ve picked up Power ammo
  • Clans will be in Destiny 2, and they’ll include in-game rosters, custom banners, and shared rewards
  • Guided Games is where solo players can choose a Clan to play with for group activities

Also, the Destiny 2 beta will begin later this summer. Pre-ordering Destiny 2 will get you early access to the beta.

Destiny 2 releases on September 8 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.
