Sony Releases Previously Unseen WipEout Concept Art With Interesting Insight Into Series

Ahead of WipEout Omega Collection‘s release on PlayStation 4, Sony has released a batch of previously unseen concept art from the franchise to mark its 21st anniversary on PlayStation. The artwork, which would make some pretty awesome wallpapers, has been unearthed by former artists and spans the entire series.

In case you missed it before, WipEout 2048 was supposed to have a zombie mode at one point but the developers ran out of time to finish it so it never made the cut. Here’s what they have to say about it:

Fun fact: WipEout 2048, for a short while, was going to have a zombie mode. It was a half-joke, a tongue-in-cheek nod to the endless ‘zombie’ modes in other games. We didn’t get time to perfect it though so we removed it.

Without further ado, check out the gallery below. Each image comes with a description.

You’ll be able to see more images via the digital artbook that’ll release alongside the Omega Collection on June 6 in North America and June 7 in Europe.
