EA has officially announced NHL 18, the next generation of the long-running sports game franchise, with a teaser trailer starring Toronto Maple Leafs star Mitch Marner and an announcement of the game’s big reveal on June 21 at the NHL Awards.
According to the game’s official website, the company plans to reveal NHL 18’s cover athlete alongside the first glimpse of gameplay and features at the big reveal event. The game’s release date is also set to be announced at the event.
It wouldn’t come as a surprise if Mitch Marner ends up being the new cover athlete, given his starring role in the teaser. And with past iterations of the series, including NHL 17 and NHL 16, being released in September, it might be safe to say that we can expect a release date in the same month for NHL 18.
