Marvel’s Spider-Man Will Run at 4K/30fps on PS4 Pro, There Won’t Be an Option for 60fps

Asked on Twitter about the specs for Marvel’s Spider-Man on PlayStation 4 Pro, Insomniac Games revealed that it will run at 4K via temporal injection and 30 frames-per-second. When someone asked for the possibility of 1080p/60fps on PS4 Pro, Insomniac said the option won’t be included:

If you watched the gameplay debuted at E3 2017, that was running on a PS4 Pro. Addressing why the new footage looked different than the E3 2016 trailer, Insomniac said, “Any differences are just small improvements to the model and costume that we’ve been making over the last year.” Specifically addressing why the graphics look different, Insomniac said, “They got better / different lighting?”

Marvel’s Spider-Man is running on the Insomniac Engine, and the developers re-assured fans that it will be a solid 30fps:

Several other tweets from Insomniac revealed that “Miles isn’t just a cameo, he has a role to play in the story,” they’ll announce the composer/cast at future events, the final version of the E3 2017 demo will have “more Fisk employees to save in different parts of the site, you can save in whatever order,” and the demo just scratched the surface of the combat system.

Marvel’s Spider-Man launches in 2018.
