Hellblade Live Q&A Hosted by the Game’s Main Character

The Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice development team held an online live Q&A session yesterday on the Ninja Theory Facebook page and did it in a pretty unique way – by having the game’s main character, Senua, host the event and answer questions.

Using the studio’s impressive motion-capture tech, Senua’s actress Melina Jeurgens, who also happens to be the team’s video editor, answered questions as her CG character in the world’s first live Q&A with a video game character.

The Q&A covers several questions including Melina’s training for the role of Senua and her experience with acting the part, the interesting ways the development team have improvised certain things to achieve a more authentic motion capture experience, and more.

Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice is about a Viking woman who suffers from psychosis and must fight through a world of myth while trying to figure out what’s real and what are just manifestations of her condition. The game comes out on August 8, 2017, for the PlayStation 4 and PC.
