WWE 2K18 trailer

WWE 2K18 Will Feature Revamped Story, Updated Visuals, and More

The latest entry into the long-running WWE 2K franchise, WWE 2K18, is set to bring significant changes and upgrades to the series in both its features and gameplay. And GameSpot spoke with Executive Producer Mark Little about the changes coming to the game and the series.

One significant set of changes come due to the changes the real-life WWE franchise has experienced over the past year, which will bring changes to the game’s Universe mode, which simulates the televised WWE schedule.

WWE 2K18 will also feature a more serious story for its My Career mode, which will be more concise and narrative-driven than its predecessors. Part of the reason for the change is the introduction of a new Road to Glory mode, which is described as sort of an end-game for the My Career mode.

Also coming to WWE 2K18 is a reworked graphics engine and new visuals which will bring features such as dithered rendering, new skin shaders, real time reflections, physically-based rendering, and new lighting and post-processing effects.

The game will also feature an expanded creation suite, 8-man battles and match types, and enhancements to the game’s grappling system.

WWE 2K18 is scheduled for release for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on October 17, 2017.
