Though Shenmue III has already been confirmed to be making an appearance at gamescom 2017, with the “newest movie clips” and “new announcements” promised, it looks like those wanting hands-on will have to possess a media or business badge.
As explained by Ys Net, gamescom splits into two areas: the Business Area, and the Entertainment Area.
The Business Area
We will be participating in the business area. The area is limited to media and other business members of the game industry. Unfortunately, general admittance visitors cannot enter this area. For the latest on-site info, we please ask you to check the various media outlets.
The Entertainment Area
This area is open to the public. We have no events planned for this venue at the moment, but we are communicating with the organizers to see if we can do something with the fans in this area. Should we have an event in the entertainment area, we will notify you with the details as soon as possible.
While it’s sad news for Shenmue fans that are attending the event, there’s at least the possibility of some fun Shenmue-related events.
gamescom 2017 will take place from August 22 to 26.
Shenmue III is currently set to release in 2018 for PlayStation 4.
