New Metal Gear Solid V Update Makes Revolver Ocelot Playable

Well, this was unexpected.
Well, this was unexpected.

One of 2015’s best video games just got even cooler. Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain received its first update this year from Konami, and it makes one of the most iconic Metal Gear characters playable. It’s none other than Shalashaska himself, Revolver Ocelot. He can now be used in the game’s Forward Operating Base missions. He can’t be customized, but he does come with a few unique perks.

Here’s the explanation of his inclusion from Konami:

You can play as Ocelot to infiltrate FOBs. You cannot change the uniform or the head option, but Ocelot has a slightly increased camouflage value, and he reloads and draws his weapons faster. He can use one pistol in each hand with the TORNADO-6. He can also use ricochet bullets on marked enemies.
*The defense value matches the highest defense value within the unlocked battle dresses.

Ocelot wasn’t the only thing added in the patch, though. A bunch of small updates to the game’s FOB missions were made (the wormhole generator now works differently), new swimsults have been added for FOB staff, and new suits are available for Diamond Dogs soldiers. They can all be seen over at Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain‘s official website.

Is this surprising update to Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain enough to get you back into the highly acclaimed open-world stealth title, or has it come too late to recapture your interest? Let us know in the comments below.
