Electronic Arts has shared its earnings report for the first quarter of fiscal year 2018, revealing net sales of $775 million. This is not only up by $93 million from the same period last year, but also $25 million more than expected.
The year-on-year growth has been attributed to sales of Mass Effect: Andromeda and FIFA. The BioWare title also made a significant contribution to the increase in EA’s digital sales, which amounted to a first quarter record of $681 million – up by $113 million from the same period last year.
2016’s Battlefield 1 has also been a success for the publisher as it now boasts a community of 21 million unique players. The DICE game helped to push net sales of live services up to $420 million, which is a year-on-year increase of 22 percent.
Overall, EA reported its highest Q1 operating cash flow in the company’s history. Net revenue amounted to $1.45 billion, which is above guidance by $24 million.
