Battlefield 1 CTE Hits PS4 & Xbox One, Is a 40+GB Download

Letting you test out updates, maps, and other content before they’re released to the public, the Battlefield 1 Community Test Environment is now live on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, DICE announced today. According to players, it’s 40GB or 52GB on PS4 and 42GB on Xbox One.

To access the CTE, you first need to own the Premium Pass. If you have that, go to the MORE tab on the Battlefield 1 main menu and select the Community Test Environment, then follow the steps outlined to get the new application.

In the fine print, DICE says registration doesn’t guarantee access to the CTE, a PlayStation Plus subscription is required, you may experience issues in the CTE, and progress/Trophies/characters/character data in the CTE won’t transfer over to the main game.

“The CTE is a Battlefield 1 environment where involved players can help us test new features, improved and changed content, and experiments that aren’t yet (and may never be) ready for public release,” DICE said. They then added, “The CTE lets us share our development process with our players, get valuable feedback earlier, and keep improving the Battlefield 1 experience.”

Battlefield 1 will get the Lupkow Pass map this month, and the In the Name of the Tsar expansion next month.
