Biomutant Officially Announced with a Collector’s Edition

Biomutant was leaked just yesterday via a German magazine, but THQ Nordic has officially confirmed the open-world action RPG does, indeed, exist. Experiment 101’s title is set to release sometime next year, and yes, a collector’s edition has been announced. Costing $119.99, it includes a soundtrack CD, figurine, and some fabric artwork.

IGN has provided an announcement trailer for the new game, which you can take a look at below:

Amazon also provides a helpful synopsis for the game:

Biomutant is a post-apocalyptic open-world ARPG that delivers real-time melee, shooter and mutant ability action. Replayability by varied and deep character progression, exploration of three systematically generated worlds, an underworld and a small solar system, by foot, mech, air-balloon, jetski and UFO. Biomutant also features a fully customizable (MMO style) character and mutation system, bionics and creative item crafting, plus an interactive narrative featuring a contextual storyteller where the players creates their own story of survival in a vibrant colorful world.

According to IGN, the choices that players make in terms of mutations and bionic enhancements will affect how their character plays, allowing for multiple playstyles and plenty of replayability.

The date set for Biomutant on Amazon is December 31 2018, which is clearly a placeholder. The German magazine Biomutant originally leaked on said ‘Anfang 2018’ which translates to early 2018–regardless, we’ll be sure to hear more information about the release window and the game itself soon.

Biomutant will release on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC. If you want, you can pre-order the Standard Edition or Collector’s Edition for the PS4 via those Amazon links.
