Final Fantasy XV Is Getting Free Assassin’s Creed DLC on August 31

Ubisoft and Square Enix announced today that they’ve partnered together for free Final Fantasy XV DLC. They’ve brought Assassin’s Creed and Final Fantasy XV together for the Assassin’s Festival DLC, which is coming to Final Fantasy XV on August 31.

Beginning on August 30, FFXV players who have obtained the Dream Egg from the Moogle Chocobo Carnival event will be given an Assassin outfit for Noctis. Then, the Assassin’s Festival will be released for FFXV on August 31:

The town of Lestallum will transform itself for the event with signs and banners signaling the arrival of the festival, and new activities will be available for players to participate in. It doesn’t end there. The Assassin’s Festival will have some additional themed items and features, including another outfit from Assassin’s Creed, along with abilities that enable Noctis to explore more like an Assassin and even use some of the Assassins’ more well-known abilities.

The event will end on January 31, 2018.

Discussions on this collaboration began nearly three years ago at the Tokyo Game Show, and Easter eggs referencing this partnership were included in the FFXV trailer from November 2016, the Assassin’s Creed Origins announcement trailer, and the Origins gamescom trailer.

Origins Game Director Ashraf Ismail said, “This collaboration is the result of being huge fans. There’s a lot of respect between the two teams and we couldn’t be more thrilled with the opportunity to pay homage to each other’s work.”

The Final Fantasy XV update this month will also include chapter select and a bestiary.
