NASCAR Heat 2 Dev Diary #3 Talks About New Series and Tracks

704Games has released the third developer diary for NASCAR Heat 2, and the focus of this video are the new tracks and racing series that Heat 2 will provide. There will be six new tracks for Heat 2: three road tracks, two oval tracks, and one dirt track. NASCAR Heat 2 also allows players to participate in all three national racing series, as opposed to just the main series.

Here is the diary:

Additionally, here’s a bit more information from 704Games:

In addition to the standard events fans know, NASCAR Heat 2 raises the stakes with six new courses, including three road tracks, two ovals and one dirt track. This latest video takes a look at the moves the team is taking to ensure each and every scenario feels as true to life as possible when racing.

Developed by Monster Games, NASCAR Heat 2 sports NASCAR’s top drivers, teams and tracks, expanding on the core experience of last year’s NASCAR Heat Evolution with a deeper career mode supporting all three national racing series, the return of two-player local multiplayer, expanded online multiplayer functionality, and upgraded visuals, physics and damage models.

Don’t forget to check out E3 preview for more about Heat 2:

The first of the improvements that I got to check out was the new racing series that have been added. Now instead of just the main Monster Energy Cup Series, players can participate in both the Camping World Truck Series and the Xfinity Series (which basically acts as the minor leagues for NASCAR). I ended up driving a truck on Eldora, one of the new dirt tracks that have been added exclusively for the trucks. I felt a difference in handling immediately, as the dirt offers up a very different experience from the paved oval tracks that make up the bulk of the game. This sort of variation is not only refreshing in a NASCAR game, but one that is needed.

NASCAR Heat 2 will release September 12 on the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.
