WWE 2K18 will also have other upgrades, such as a revamped story mode:

The latest entry into the long-running WWE 2K franchise, WWE 2K18, is set to bring significant changes and upgrades to the series in both its features and gameplay. And GameSpot spoke with Executive Producer Mark Little about the changes coming to the game and the series.

One significant set of changes come due to the changes the real-life WWE franchise has experienced over the past year, which will bring changes to the game’s Universe mode, which simulates the televised WWE schedule.

WWE 2K18 will also feature a more serious story for its My Career mode, which will be more concise and narrative-driven than its predecessors. Part of the reason for the change is the introduction of a new Road to Glory mode, which is described as sort of an end-game for the My Career mode.

WWE 2K18 will release October 17 on the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. The title will also release for the Nintendo Switch, but its release date is a more vague Fall 2017.
