Steins;Gate Elite Website Live, Launches Spring 2018 in Japan

In May, developer 5pb. announced that they are releasing an updated version of their popular science fiction visual novel Steins;Gate called Steins;Gate Elite. We now know a few new details, as a teaser website is now live. The remastered PlayStation 4 and Vita title is set to release in Spring 2018 in Japan.

There’s not much on the teaser site, but there is some English text below the logo. Check it out below:

There is no end though there is a start in space. Infinity.

It has own power, it ruins, and it goes though there is a start also in the star. Finite.

Only the person who has wisdom can read the most foolish one from the history.

The fish that lives in the sea doesn’t know the world in the land. It also ruins and goes if they have wisdom.

It is funnier that man exceeds the speed of light than fish start living in the land.

It can be said that this is an final ultimatum from the god to the people who can fight.

As the site says, more about the updated visual novel will be shown at Tokyo Game Show 2017. So, players won’t have to wait much longer for additional details.

Steins;Gate Elite releases in Spring 2018 for PlayStation 4 and Vita. Currently only a Japanese release is announced, although recent titles in the visual novel series have been localized.

Fans of fellow Vita visual novels like Zero Escape and Danganronpa should make this a priority. They might miss the heavier emphasis on gameplay in those titles, but on the other hand, there are no distractions from the rich narrative. Time travel is very hard to do right in fiction, and Steins;Gate is an exemplary instance of this intriguing concept given the attention and care it deserves.
