As the first fireteam of six crossed the finish line for Destiny 2’s Leviathan Raid, Bungie made a gift available to all Destiny 2 players. Posting on Twitter that Shaxx (the Crucible announcer) is following up on their victory, a new map called Emperor’s Respite is now available in the PVP mode. The map takes place on the same Leviathan ship that the raid does, an extravagant palace inlaid with gold. It’s an environment quite unlike any other that we’ve seen in Destiny so far, and makes for a very interesting additional map for players to get their competitive game on.

Our own live stream of the raid failed to find a completion, though my fireteam and I were able to make it to the final boss, with a full completion hopefully to come soon. Don’t forget that this weekend marks the arrival of Xur, the mysterious figure who sells exotics in exchange for legendary shards, and Trials of the Nine, which is Destiny 2’s version of Trials of Osiris. Trials of the Nine promises to be a tough endgame level competitive event each weekend, though details around it are still scarce. There’s also an event called Faction Rally coming later this month that will bring back fan favorite factions Dead Orbit, New Monarchy, and Future War Cult to the game.
Have you tried your hand at conquering the challenges of the Leviathan Raid yet? If you’re not quite that level, you’ll want to read our Destiny 2 endgame guide to work out how to get yourself to higher levels once the story is completed. One good method is by completing heroic public events, which have specific requirements to trigger.
