In early September CD Projekt RED President and Joint CEO Adam Kiciński announced that The Witcher 3 would be getting a 4K update for the PlayStation 4 Pro console in “just a few days.” It took a bit longer than that, but The Witcher 3 update 1.50 is now live bringing with it PS4 Pro support. In some regions, an additional patch, update 1.51, is also available bringing with it some additional bug fixes.
The patch notes on PlayStation 4 aren’t exactly detailed, as The Witcher update 1.50 simply says it adds “PS4 Pro support,” and 1.51 adds “improved stability.” If full patch notes get released then we’ll update the post with them. Similar to this update, the Xbox One version of the game will be getting an update later this year so that it’ll take advantage of the Xbox One X’s power.
In case you’ve somehow missed out on The Witcher 3, make sure to check out Chandler Wood’s review of the game:
The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is truly an incredible masterpiece. The writing and building of the world alone should be lauded as some of the best in video games. Stories weave in and out of one another surprisingly. The consequences of every decision are far reaching and unpredictable while also making complete sense once they happen. The world is organic, dangerous, and fun to explore. There is a true sense of reward and accomplishment. While minor design choices keep it from being absolutely perfect, The Witcher 3 will go down as one of the best games of this generation of consoles.
The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is available now.
