Bandai Namco has announced yet another DLC of additional mobile suit for Gundam Versus, which will be the Atlas Gundam from Mobile Suit Gundam Thunderbolt. It will join the expanded Gundam Versus roster, which currently has surpassed 100 mobile suits, in late November.
The RX-78AL Atlas Gundam is the new mobile suit given to Gundam Thunderbolt‘s protagonist Io Fleming after he had lost his previous unit, the FA-78 Full Armor Gundam. Produced after the end of the One Year War, Atlas Gundam is made to be capable of underwater combat thanks to the technology the Earth Federation has obtained from Zeon’s amphibious mobile suits.
As with its predecessor, Atlas Gundam will also have an in-game cost of 400. It will mainly fight with the railgun as its main ranged weapon and a pair of beam sabers as the main melee weapon. However, its special shooting command will instead let it do special maneuvers with the thrusters on its Sub Legs. Its Burst Attack is dubbed Groovy Duel, where it will seem to shoot with an assault rifle while maneuvering around with the Sub Legs.
Gundam Versus is a team battle action game that has been released worldwide by Bandai Namco, exclusively for the PlayStation 4. The development team has promised a long-term support for this game, so expect it to receive even more additional mobile suits as well as game balance updates in the future.
