EA Announces Release Date and Cover Athlete for EA Sports UFC 3

Today, EA officially announced not only the release date for the upcoming EA Sports UFC 3, but also that Conor McGregor would once again be the cover athlete for the title. In what should come as no real surprise, McGregor will once again be featured on the global cover for the game after co-appearing on the cover for EA Sports UFC 2.

The brief trailer for the announcement (above) featured short snippets of gameplay taking place in what looks like a totally revamped graphics engine. With most of EA’s sports titles making the leap to Frostbite, it wouldn’t be surprising to see the UFC series get a boost in graphics as well. Some of the newly revealed fighters showcased in the trailer are Chuck Liddell, Rampage Jackson, Ronda Rousey, Nate Diaz, and Holly Holm.

Also announced today was the “Champions Edition” of the game, a bundle that is currently up for pre-order on EA’s site and includes the full game with 3 days of early access, your choice of one Champion fighter in Ultimate Team, 20 Premium Packs, 5 instant Premium Packs, and 500 UFC points. The game launches on February 2, 2018 so anyone who pre-orders the Champions Edition will be eligible to start it up on January 30.
