Utawarerumono PS4 Remake - Famitsu preview

The First Utawarerumono is Coming to PS4 and Vita

Aquaplus has revealed in both Weekly Famitsu and Dengeki PlayStation magazines that they are remaking the first Utawarerumono game for PlayStation 4 and PlayStation Vita in Japan.

For the record, Utawarerumono was first released on PC in Japan in 2002. It was then ported to PlayStation 2 in 2006 and also to PlayStation Portable in 2009. The PS2 version of the first Utawarerumono was subtitled Lullaby to the Fallen People, which will also be the subtitle of this new version.

Japanese blog Ryokutya has also compiled the essential information of this Utawarerumono remake from the magazines, which is as follows:

  • All [visual] presentations are being enhanced. All scenes are being remade in HD.
  • The opening movie will be also remade in high quality.
  • There will also be a Special Extended mode that provides better music quality.
  • All battles are being completely re-created in 3D fields.

There will be also a Premium Edition that contains the game’s original soundtrack CD, a visual book, and an original anime Blu-ray disc titled The Gorgeous Daily Activities of Princess Tusukuru which will also depict Kuon’s childhood days.

Utawarerumono: Lullaby to the Fallen People will be out in Japan on April 26, 2018. Note that although the sequels to Utawarerumono, Mask of Deception and Mask of Truth, have been released worldwide, this first game still hasn’t seen an English localization as of yet. We hope that this remake of Lullaby to the Fallen People could also mean a chance for them to finally localize the first title to the international audience.
