Bandai Namco has published the second Gintama Rumble trailer in Japan. This upcoming Gintama game has a Samurai Rumble Action genre that looks very similar to Dynasty Warriors and Samurai Warriors game, where the player will control a character who will fight many enemies at once, although this game will also have one-on-one duels against bosses.

As of this trailer, eleven characters have been confirmed to be playable in this game, which are:

  • Sakata Gintoki
  • Shimura Shinpachi
  • Kagura
  • Katsura Kotaro
  • Takasugi Shinsuke
  • Kamui
  • Tsukuyo
  • Hijikata Toshiro
  • Okita Sougo
  • Kondo Isao
  • Imai Nobume

More characters are also shown in the trailer, such as Okada Nizo, Doromizu Jirocho, Sasaki Isaburo, Oboro, and Utsuro. However, they will only appear as enemy boss NPCs. Gintama Rumble‘s main mode is Gintama Chronicle, a story mode that covers eight major arcs in the Gintama lore. So far, seven out of the eight arcs have been confirmed, leaving just one more to be announced at a later date.

  1. Benizakura
  2. Yoshiwara in Flames
  3. Kabukicho Four Devas
  4. Baragaki
  5. Courtesan of a Nation
  6. Shogun Assassination
  7. Farewell Shinsengumi

Of course, it’s not Gintama without the gags. In this new trailer, you can spot Gintoki launching a certain taboo move (hint: it’s the Kamehameha). The release bonuses will be also full of gags. The day-one bonus, which will be also available in the English version, lets players unlock the infamous Neo Armstrong Cyclone Jet Armstrong Cannon as a support attack.

The rest of the bonuses will be exclusive to Japan, such as the pre-order bonus of a drama CD that will add new finisher quotes to the game, as well as a limited AV (Anime sound & Voice) edition that contains opening & ending songs from the Gintama anime and more exclusive finisher quotes.

Gintama Rumble will be released on PlayStation 4 and PlayStation Vita in Japan on January 18, 2018. An English version will be also released in Southeast Asia on the same day, but only on the PlayStation 4.
