Last week I had the opportunity to stop by Bungie and go hands-on with a lot of Destiny 2’s upcoming expansion, Curse of Osiris. As Bungie reveals more about the December 5 expansion via live streams this month, I’ll be bringing you gameplay and impressions of what I was able to play.
Today was the live stream revealing more about the story, location, and characters in Curse of Osiris, including an expanded role for Ikora Rey, the great Warlock Osiris, and his Ghost, Sagira. You can check out the opening mission of the Curse of Osiris campaign above.
Titled The Gateway, the Curse of Osiris opening mission takes players to Mercury in search of a gateway into the Infinite Forest where Osiris is supposedly lost. The adventure quickly reunites the Guardian with Brother Vance (last seen officiating Trials of Osiris in Destiny 1) and a new Lighthouse, now accessible to everyone. It also hints at being able to revive Sagira, a Ghost long deactivated and waiting in the shifting sands of Mercury. It also reveals a redesigned Vex, as the robots begin converging on Mercury from various points past, present, and future.
Next week on November 21, Bungie will be doing a stream revealing some of the new activities coming with Curse of Osiris, and we’ll have more gameplay and impressions of those once they’ve been revealed.
Following that, on November 29, Bungie’s final stream before launch will detail the new gear that Curse of Osiris is bringing to the table, along with showing off a new Crucible map that will be included in the expansion. As with the rest of the streams, we’ll also have hands-on gameplay and impressions to go along with Bungie’s stream.
Destiny 2 Curse of Osiris launches on December 5 and comes with a number of changes to the game, including new content, impending sandbox updates, Season Two events, and quality of life fixes that should address much of the endgame feedback that players have been giving.
