Valkyria Chronicles 4’s DLC Takes You Back to the Series’ Roots

Valkyria Chronicles 4 was revealed on Sunday evening, but there’s been a constant steam of information on the latest mainline title of the Valkyria Chronicles series. SEGA has detailed some of the DLC of the new game, and it seems it’ll be going back to the series’ roots for some returning characters! This information was detailed on SEGA’s Japanese Valkyria Twitter, and was translated by DualShockers.

Here is the original Japanese tweet, for our Japanese speaking audience:

DualShockers states that this bit of DLC, Joint Battle With Squad 7, will star Alicia, Largo, Rosie, and Isara from the original Valkyria Chronicles. It will also, of course, have the Edelweiss tank. By completing the DLC map, you’ll unlock them to use in the Valkyria Chronicles 4 campaign. Additionally, first print versions of the game will come with the Advance Special Operations DLC, which includes some weapons to make the early game easier and will unlock Edy once completed.

This is in addition to the Japanese pre-registration campaign, that if you sign up for you get a special emblem. It’s unknown if this campaign will make it to Western territories.

Want to know more about Valkyria Chronicles 4? Learn more about the new Granadier class:

The new “Grenadier” class can use grenade guns that have long range and high ballistic altitude. By firing it in the sky, you can unleash an attack that flies over the enemy’s cover. If an ally catches hold of the enemy’s location information on the front lines, a Grenadier can attack the enemy without the enemy seeing them. However, they cannot attack an enemy directly in front of them.

Valkyria Chronicles 4 releases in 2018 on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch.
