2017 PlayStation Awards

The PlayStation Awards 2017 Will Be Streamed in English Next Week

Sony Interactive Entertainment Japan Asia will be holding its annual PlayStation Awards next week, and that the PlayStation Awards 2017 presentation will be available in English. The event has been a yearly staple for the company, and go all the way back to 1994 when the PlayStation brand was first born. Since then, over 350 titles have received awards.

Games that managed to sell over 500,000 copies (physically or digitally) in Japan will be awarded the Gold Prize, while games that manage to exceed one million copies will get the Platinum Prize. Besides recognizing great sales accomplishments, the show will also hand out awards for the three best-selling PlayStation VR titles, the top three PlayStation Network titles, and then a “User’s Choice Award” that’ll go to the top 10 games via user voting. Finally, there’ll be three titles that get the “Indie & Developer Award” that goes to games that “contributed to the variety line-up of PlayStation.”

The ceremony will take place on Thursday, November 30, 2017. The events will be streamed on YouTube in both English and Japanese. All the festivities will begin at 17:00 JST. You can view the two streams below:

Other prizes include two 1TB PlayStation 4 systems, and 20 people will get a branded 2017 PlayStation Awards pen case. The latter award is especially enticing, as who doesn’t love a good pen case?
