Winning Post 8 2018 Announced for PS4 and Vita

Koei Tecmo has just announced Winning Post 8 2018 at the latest Weekly Famitsu magazine. This is the fifth yearly update iteration from the original Winning Post 8 that was originally released for PS3, PS Vita, and PC in 2014.

Winning Post 8 is a horse racing simulation game where players can not only participate in horse races, but they can also manage horse breeding and even build their in-game family to help with all the horse-related management. The upcoming 2018 edition will include the latest actual horse data and race programs from the 2018 season. Foreign GI horses such as The Everest are also included in the updated data.

These are the other features introduced in the Famitsu article:

  • Renewed Training System

Players can freely give orders to raise their favorite horses by adjusting the three choices of Course, Strength, and Partner Horse. For viewing horse stats, players will be able to choose between the old 4-grade style (S to C) or a new 16-grade style (S+ to G).
  • Dream Match

Winning Post 8 2018 will enhance the 100 historical horses that first appeared in the 2016 edition. Once per year, players will be able to directly compete with these horses, transcending through time.
  • Bonding Events between Man and Horse

Various new events are added to this latest version, which will depict interactions with acquaintances and horses alike.

Winning Post 8 2018 is currently 60% complete, and it will be released for PlayStation 4, PlayStation Vita, Nintendo Switch, and PC in Japan on March 15, 2018. Please be noted, however, that Koei Tecmo has not localized any of the Winning Post 8 iterations, so chances of this version receiving a Western localization might be slim as well.
