Koei Tecmo has uploaded the first few character gameplay videos for their upcoming anticipated game, Dynasty Warriors 9. The first three characters shown are Zhao Yun, Cheng Pu, and Xin Xianying. The former has been considered as the poster boy of Dynasty Warriors series, while the latter two are among the seven brand-new characters that are added to this latest installment.
While you can check out how fluid the characters’ movements look like in less than 30 seconds per video, we also notice that they are bringing back character close-ups on Musou attacks, which have been implemented since Dynasty Warriors 7, although it was not present in the early demo version of Dynasty Warriors 9 at Tokyo Game Show 2017.
In a related news, Koei Tecmo has also shown informal attires for 14 more characters: Liu Shan, Xu Shu, Guan Ping, Huang Yueying, Gan Ning, Taishi Ci, Zhou Yu, Cao Pi, Xiahou Yuan, Jia Xu, Dian Wei, Deng Ai, Zhuge Dan, and Dong Zhuo. You can view the costumes after the remaining trailers below.
Dynasty Warriors 9 will be released for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Steam in North America and Europe on February 13, 2018. It will be released five days earlier in Japan and East Asia on February 8, although it will be coming exclusively to PS4 in the region.
