If you’re anything like me, then you’ve been eagerly awaiting news on how Bungie is going to change the playing field for Destiny 2’s coming expansion and second year of content. That day is finally here, beginning with a Destiny 2: Forsaken reveal stream that will not only show the new narrative content coming to the game, but will be the start of a conversation that will last all summer about making Destiny 2 into the hobby that players want it to be.

Bungie announced the Destiny 2 Year 2 reveal stream last week, surprising everyone with a pre-E3 reveal. At that time, details were scarce, but yesterday the studio posted a short teaser revealing the title of the September expansion as well as confirming the theme and setting. Destiny 2: Forsaken will feature the Reef, a location that was sparsely explored in Destiny 1. It will also center on the wisecracking Exo Cayde-6, played by Nathan Fillion, following expansions that focused on the other two members of the Vanguard.
At the end of the stream, they will offer another updated roadmap to show where Destiny 2 is headed, and give players a good idea of the new content timetable.
Destiny 2 will also receive another major change today, and this one’s playable. Faction Rallies will be back in the game at the weekly reset. The system of pledging to a faction and earning reputation has been overhauled to make your selection much more meaningful. You can now only pledge to a single faction per account per week-long event, and each faction has exclusive rewards. No more running all three characters through the full trio of factions. Depending on how long the Destiny 2: Forsaken reveal stream goes, Faction Rallies should be beginning just as it ends.
