When the original The Last of Us launched in 2013, its multiplayer mode was a surprise hit that for many was the cherry on top of an already great game. When it comes to The Last of Us Part II, fans were unsure if any multiplayer mode would return, but during E3 2018, Naughty Dog has confirmed that the upcoming game would see the return of the popular Factions mode.
Speaking in an interview with GameSpot, co-director Anthony Newman confirmed that the mode will return. “Factions is coming back,” he said, with other co-director, Kurt Margenau adding in that details aren’t ironed out, but the mode will be there. “Multiplayer is coming back. We’re not going to talk details yet about what form that takes, but we can confirm there will be multiplayer.” Of course, until more details released, it’ll be tough to imagine what we’ll get in the game, but make sure to stay tuned for future updates.
In other The Last of Us Part II news, Naughty Dog recently spoke on some of the gameplay changes coming to the new title, including Ellie being able to craft ammo, having enhanced moves, and much more.
