This year’s E3 has brought a whole lot of news (well, okay not that much), media and info on various upcoming projects. Among the various new releases and sequels we also learned more about Koei Tecmo’s fighting game, Dead or Alive 6. The latest scoop on the game is that the publisher and developer are looking to tone down the sexualization of all the Dead or Alive 6 female characters.
Over the years the series has been notorious for its sexualisation of in-game female fighters. Apart from that, the in-game breast physics were downright ridiculous at times. Following the E3 2018 we have learned that Dead or Alive 6 is making a change in how it handles female characters. So yeah female sexualisation is going to be turned down a notch, and as Japan-based Koei Tecmo confirmed, the characters will have more natural breast movement.
As for the gameplay and fighting it was also uncovered that the idea behind this game is to have “intense fighting entertainment”, said producer and game director Yohei Shimbori. In short, they appear to be going for a slightly more realistic look that was inspired by mixed martial arts.
“I want to show how sweaty the fighters get as they fight, either female or male, it doesn’t matter,” Shimbori said. “They can really go to the extreme in their fighting and get injured. We want to show the damage as well.”
Dead or Alive 6 is coming on to PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC platforms. According to the very first info, the game is going to hit stores in early 2019.
