The Crew 2 Bug Continues to Prevent Some PS4 Users from Playing

We’ve previously reported on a nasty bug that prevented some The Crew 2 players from getting past the main menu screen. The bug in question was  error code CE-34878-0, which means “an error has occurred with the application.” The bug appears to only affect PlayStation 4 players and seems limited to Eastern European regions. It now seems that four days after the game’s launch – or seven days if considering the June 26, 2018 release date for the Gold Edition of the game – the bug continues to prevent Eastern European players from racing around in The Crew 2.

A thread on the official forum page reads “Thread: The Crew 2 crash with error CE-34878-0 on PS4 | Forums.” Users are complaining about how the game is unplayable to people in Russia and Ukraine. A Ubisoft community manager commented on the thread, saying, “We are aware of the CE-34878-0 error code preventing Russian & Ukrainian PS4 accounts from accessing the game. We are working with Sony to resolve the situation. Our sincere apologies to all those impacted.” When asked for an ETA on the fix, the community managed simply responded with, “I do apologise for this inconvenience. Once I know more information, I’ll be able to provide you with an update.” At this time, there’s no word on when Ubisoft will address this issue, but it seems the company is working to get it resolved.

In our review of the game, we gave it an 8.5/10, saying, “The Crew 2 is an improvement over its predecessor in most ways. It is truly a gearhead’s playground, with plenty of customization and tweaking options, combined with arcade gameplay to give a more relaxed feeling. Rubber-banding AI can be annoying to deal with, an issue which is more evident in some events, like street races, than in others. Despite some flaws, The Crew 2 is a fun rush of whatever kind of racing players desire.”
