Challenge Tombs and Puzzles Highlighted in Shadow of the Tomb Raider Trailer

Shadow of the Tomb Raider continues to unleash new looks at gameplay, thanks to a series of brief trailers. The newest of the bunch places the game’s challenge tombs and puzzles front and center.

See Lara Croft navigate puzzles and environmental mysteries in the trailer below:

Similar to many of the other short trailers, this only teases people with regards to what they can expect from Shadow of the Tomb Raider. It is worth noting, however, that the little details shown do seem to indicate that these challenges are far deadlier than any in the series’ past. If so, anticipate Lara reiterating her hatred of tombs.

Other trailers have shown how Lara navigates the world’s terrain, the brutality of her takedowns, and the character’s improved survival skills. For fans interested in the story, be sure to check out the recently released and awesome TV spot.

If the challenge tombs don’t look challenging enough, don’t worry. A New Game Plus mode unlocks upon completing the game’s story. This mode is different from those featured in other games, though. Players will be given an opportunity to replay the game using three different “pathways,” each of which places emphasis on a specific style of play. New rewards will also unlock, based on which path is chosen.

Shadow of the Tomb Raider’s story has been summarized as follows:

Experience Lara Croft’s defining moment as she becomes the Tomb Raider. In Shadow of the Tomb Raider, Lara must master a deadly jungle, overcome terrifying tombs, and persevere through her darkest hour. As she races to save the world from a Maya apocalypse, Lara will ultimately be forged into the Tomb Raider she is destined to be.

Get your hands on Lara Croft’s latest adventure when Shadow of the Tomb Raider arrives on September 14, 2018.
