Another day apparently means another THQ Nordic acquisition. The publisher announced on its Twitter account that it purchased the rights to Kingdoms of Amalur from 38 Studios. It is the latest dormant IP to be scooped up by the company.

Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning, which released back in 2012, was developed by 38 Studios and Big Huge Games. It managed to sell over a million copies. Unfortunately, it was 38 Studios ‘ only game, as the it filed for bankruptcy after its release.
THQ Nordic didn’t divulge its plans for the Kingdoms of Amalur franchise. However, the publisher has been engaging in an interesting, nostalgia-fueled business strategy as of late. It has been purchasing and reviving dormant IPs. It most recently laid out plans to bring Timesplitters back from the dead. The Jagged Alliance and Desperados franchises will also see new entries in the coming months. In addition, Darksiders III is releasing in November 2018 after a six-year absence.
Are you excited about this latest purchase from THQ Nordic? What IP would you like to see them acquire or revive next? Let us know!
