Assassin’s Creed Odyssey Season Pass Includes Assassin’s Creed III Remastered

Ubisoft just announced its post-launch plans for Assassin’s Creed Odyssey, and it includes some surprises. For those who buy the season pass, you can get your hands on remastered versions of both Assassin’s Creed III and Assassin’s Creed III Liberation. In addition, some free content is planned for everyone following the game’s launch. The season pass will cost $39.99, and will also be included in the Gold, Ultimate, Spartan and Pantheon Editions of the game.

Assassin’s Creed III released on the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and PC, while Liberation was originally a PlayStation Vita exclusive that eventually made its way to consoles. This is the first time either will be available on current-generation consoles. Assassin’s Creed III Remastered will also be sold separately, though nothing was said of Liberation.

Looking to the future instead, the Assassin’s Creed Odyssey DLC will include two “story arcs,” and it is a change of pace from Ubisoft’s previous post-launch plans. The story arcs will be taking a Telltale-style approach and be released episodically. Each one will be three episodes long, and there will be a six week break between episodes.

The first arc is Legacy of the First Blade. It will dive into the backstory of the Assassins and start in December 2018. The second story arc, The Fate of Atlantis, takes you to the fabled underwater city and promises to explore the First Civilization further. That will begin in Spring 2019. Both are included in the season pass.

Some post-launch updates will be available even for those who don’t want the season pass. The Lost Legacies of Greece will be released in-between episodes and be available for all players. There will also be weekly events and challenges to make sure the world is ever-changing. Farther down the line, Ubisoft plans to release a Discovery Tour mode that allows you to learn about Ancient Greece sans combat, similar to Assassin’s Creed Origins. There will also be a New Game Plus mode added at some point too.

Assassin’s Creed Odyssey will launch on October 5, 2018, for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC. However, those who own the Gold, Collectors, and Ultimate Editions will get to play it on October 2nd. If you want to learn more, be sure to check out our recent preview of Assassin’s Creed Odyssey.
