Compile Heart Is Bringing Azur Lane to PS4

Idea Factory, Compile Heart, and Felistella have announced Azur Lane: Crosswave for the PlayStation 4. It is an adaptation of Chinese mobile game Azur Lane.

The original game, which was released for mobile platforms in 2017, is a side-scrolling, shoot em up/RPG hybrid that’s about, well, various warship models personified as attractive anime women.

Azure Lane: Crosswave expands on the concept, making it more of what looks like a fully 3D, action/shooter sort of game based. At least, that is what the reveal trailer below suggests:

Two of the characters are introduced in the trailer. One is based on the HMS Javelin, and the other the IJN Ayanami. A few more silhouettes are shown in the trailer, but we’ll have to wait to see which infamous battleships they represent at a later date.

If you’re curious, Azur Lane sure is currently available for iOS and Android in North America, which could be a good sign for Azur Lane: Crosswave‘s chances at a localization.

Here’s a trailer for that game, so you familiarize yourself with the Azur Lane universe.

Azur Lane: Crosswave currently does not have a release date or window, with the game’s new official website simply promising that more information is on the way.
