wolfenstein 3 confirmed

Bethesda is ‘Absolutely’ Doing Wolfenstein 3

Wolfenstein II was a great game, but it came out during a crowded time of the year, and seemed to go down in price pretty quickly after launch. This has led some fans to worry about the future of the series, even after Bethesda announced the Youngblood story extension. That’s the impression you get from a recent Metro interview, in which Bethesda’s Pete Hines not only claimed the series is fine, but that Wolfenstein 3 is already on the table.

In the interview with Metro’s GameCentral, Hines implied that games like Dishonored or Wolfenstein are more for savvy gamers, who aren’t relying on their parents or whoever to get them big name titles that are easy to recognize during the holiday season. He used his own kids as an example, saying they’re informed and will give him a list of games they’re interested in.

Hines then said that Wolfenstein II did well, citing Youngblood as evidence, saying that “Wolfenstein did well for us, because we’re about to make two more Wolfenstein games.”

When pressed for more, Hines is quoted as saying, “Yeah, sure. Absolutely we’re making a Wolfenstein 3.” So there it is. Intriguingly, he also commented on earlier word about Arkane Studios taking an ostensible break from Dishonored, comparing that more to Todd Howard moving from Elder Scrolls, to Fallout, to Starfield rather than being a performance-related situation.
