Red Dead Redemption 2 Will Be Home to Around 200 Species of Animals

While we’re used to seeing a lot of horses in Red Dead Redemption 2‘s trailers and promotional material, let’s not forget that the West is full of wildlife. Rockstar Games took to Twitter to let us know we can expect around 200 different species of animals, “all of which behave and respond to their environment in a unique way.” This is yet another example of Rockstar Games’ attention to detail when it comes to Read Dead Redemption 2:

This speaks to the depth of Red Dead Redemption 2‘s world, as well as the vast array of opportunities players will have in it. Hunting plays a large role in the game, so the more animals available, the less stagnant the (inherently) repetitive task will become.

All of these species will diversify the way you can support your camp and earn money, although cooking and skinning creatures may be less exciting to those of us who are squeamish about killing animals (even digitally). The wide range of wild life will add to the setting’s realism, which should pair nicely with the game’s health and weapon maintenance.

Obviously, most fans just want another gameplay trailer but, other than that, what are you eager to hear more about when it comes to Red Dead Redemption 2?
