The Sims 4 Is Getting Mouse and Keyboard Support on Consoles

Some may argue the merits of playing The Sims on consoles versus PC, but the two experiences are about to get a little more similar. EA announced that mouse and keyboard support will be coming to The Sims 4 on consoles at some point in the future. No release date was given, but it is a huge addition for The Sims fans on all systems.

The news was given on the SimsGuruLegacy Twitter account, saying the team is “working hard” on its implementation:

In further replies, the account reiterated that this is a big undertaking, so don’t expect this The Sims 4 update to happen in the immediate future. It was confirmed that this won’t be a part of the next update, but the team is hard at work to get it out as soon as possible. It was also confirmed that controller support will still be an option for those who prefer that.

The Sims 4 made its way to consoles in 2017, three years after it originally released on PC. In our review, we called the PS4 port “a game that rewards players the more time they spend with it.” It has seen consistent support since it’s console launch. If a leak is to be believed, there is still plenty more on the way. Its most recent expansion, Cats and Dogs, was released back in July 2018.
