Fortnite’s 6.1 patch is set to launch soon, and we may already know one of the weapons it will bring with it. The Quad Launcher may pack a punch when it releases. It’s a pretty straightforward weapon, as it is a rocket launcher that can shoot up to four rockets.
While the Quad Launcher’s existence has been known for a while now, due to datamining, this is the first time that Epic Games has acknowledged its existence. It recently popped up in the Fortnite daily news, which gives the indication that it will be arriving soon. The official description of the weapon says “Quickly fire up to 4 rockets to blanket an area with explosive damage.” The exact mechanics of the weapon are not currently known, outside of it being able to hold four rockets. The amount of time between firing, for example, could determine just how devastating this weapon will be.
The Quad Launcher is the first weapon to be introduced in Season 6 of Fortnite. The 6.01 update introduced the Chiller, which lets you freeze the area surrounding you. In addition, a bunch of Halloween-themed customization items that leaked earlier have been released. We shall see if the 6.1 update brings the Quad Launcher with it, and what kind of impact it will have on Fortnite when it does come.
