Mortal Kombat 11’s Nightwolf DLC Release Date Might Have Been Leaked

NetherRealm Studios has remained pretty tightlipped about its release plans for Mortal Kombat 11’s Kombat Pack. At present, only one of the six DLC characters is available to download: Shang Tsung. Meanwhile, the rest—Nightwolf, Sindel, Spawn, and two guest fighters—are nowhere to be seen. That could be changing in the coming weeks, if a reported leak on Nintendo’s website is anything to go by.

Shortly after NetherRealm Creative Director and Founder Ed Boon tweeted teaser footage of Nightwolf, a listing appeared on Nintendo’s website for the DLC. The listing specifically concerned an advertisement for a 25% off sale, but also made note of when Nightwolf will go live for those who own the Kombat Pack. Apparently, the character is slated to return to Mortal Kombat in just a handful of days on August 13th.

The reportedly leaked release date information for Nightwolf has since been removed from Mortal Kombat 11’s Nintendo page. It’s possible NetherRealm Studios and Warner Bros. were waiting on launch details about the classic fighter in an effort to make a big splash at EVO. The fighting game tournament certainly would be the perfect environment for such an announcement. If that is indeed what the developer has in store, official news concerning Nightwolf’s release, and perhaps other Kombat Pack tidbits, could go live very soon. EVO 2019 will run in Las Vegas from August 2nd to August 4th.

For weeks, MK fans have been eager to learn more about the Kombat Pack. Thus far, NetherRealm has shown very little of the five remaining combatants. While both Nightwolf’s and Sindel’s updated looks are out in the wild, the only details about Spawn come from the character’s creator, Todd McFarlane, who recently expressed enthusiasm about what he’s seen. The other two guest characters remain a mystery. Yet, rumors and speculation suggest Ash from The Evil Dead and the Joker may complete the Kombat Pack’s six-character roster.
